TUDOR JOINS HERO-ERA AS OFFICIAL TIMEKEEPER OF STORIED RALLIES AROUND THE GLOBE

TUDOR’s “Born To Dare” spirit is exactly what it takes to survive something like the legendary Peking to Paris rally, a 15,000km journey through 11 countries, just one of the many rallies HERO-ERA puts on.

In 1907, French newspaper Le Matin asked, "Is there anyone who will undertake to travel this summer from Paris to Peking by automobile?". Several competitors answered the call. Prince Scipione Borghese reached Paris from Peking first after traveling across mostly uncharted territory—with very few paved roads—after about 8 weeks. Today it’s considered the world’s most adventurous motoring race, drawing the most daring drivers to test their wit and endurance.

These days, the legendary Peking to Paris Rally is put on by HERO-ERA, and now TUDOR is the official timekeeper of not just the Peking to Paris Rally, but the entire line-up of HERO-ERA rallies. The partnership reflects TUDOR's longstanding presence in the world of motorsport.

The rallying world of HERO-ERA is a place where seconds are more important than speed, where ‘on time’ is more important than a fast time and competitors pit themselves against the timekeeper’s clock in some of the harshest and most varied environments on the planet. From the high passes of the Andes to the soaking wet valleys of Wales, and from the heat of the Sahara Desert to the unforgiving Arctic, on events that last anything up to 43 days, across many thousands of kilometers, around the world, being ‘on time’ is vital.

Accurate timekeeping is key to success, and so is a daring spirit. The basis of Tudor’s values closely matches HERO-ERA’s, an organization that’s no stranger to pushing the limits. HERO-ERA rallies are often performed in cars made before 1991, and in many cases, long before that. Resilience, a can-do spirit, and mechanical know-how make a driver competitive.
